Getting Ready For The Prom

Prom is just hours away and you are busy texting your friends about dresses, makeup, and hair. It’s very easy to forget the rest of you while you are concentrating on these things. Learn how to pamper yourself on the day of your prom.

Eat

Although this would be the last thing that you would trouble yourself with, but you need to eat regular meals on the day of your prom. Fitting into your prom dress should not worry you because you will still certainly fit into it. Food maintains the balance in your sugar so you don’t feel nauseated, dizzy or worse.

Your Other Parts

Now that you’ve taken care of the inside of your body, it’s time to pamper the outside.

Soft and smooth skin is important, so right after your shower, use a scented body lotion. A drugstore brand will do the trick. They will make your skin glow and are lightly scented, so they smell great. Don’t ignore your elbows. Since they are hidden from our line of vision, we sometimes forget how dry they can get.

Easy does it

It’s fun to douse yourself with an eau de designer perfume. That’s part of the fun of dressing up, after all. But to avoid a dating disaster, go easy on the scent. We don’t even realize it but a lot of perfumes are very potent, so a little can go a long way. Plus, if your date is allergic or even slightly sensitive, you don’t want him sneezing on your shoulder all night long. The scent of the body lotion would be so much better than the perfume.

The Big Z-it

After all the worrying about prom night, you look in the mirror and you see a zit ᾢ don’t squeeze it and more importantly, don’t panic.

Washing your face with soap and water would be a good way to start. Avoid scrubbing. A clean towel should be used to pat it gently, leaving it slightly damp. Now apply a very light, oil-free moisturizer to your face and neck.

While your skin air dries, dig out your cover stick or foundation from your makeup bag. Using the tip of your finger, dot a bit of concealer around and over the zit, allowing it to blend into the surrounding, clear skin. If your cover stick is a very dry formula, mix it with a bit of moisturizer. Pat your face with powder puff, now that you’ve hidden all the unwanted spots. Don’t over load the puff with powder. Keep it very light otherwise you’ll end up looking like a circus clown. Now that we’ve relaxed, time to put some makeup, put on that gown and go to the prom.
